Michael Myers is Coming Home!

I try to stay away from too much horror movie "News" on this page.  Mostly because I know that the rumor mill can turn out stories that sound like gospel, then get debunked, causing the writer to retract.  But the combination of what the news regards and the legitimacy of the sources has gotten me too excited NOT to say anything.  

Michael Myers is returning to Haddonfield.  More importantly, it will go back to John Carpenter's continuity that ended with 1981's Halloween II.  The plot description is after the jump.

“Halloween Returns” will pit a new group of Haddonfield youngsters against Myers. The now 18-year-old child of one of Myers’ victims plays a central role along with the child of a cop who has long been obsessed with Myers’ case, even putting it before his own daughter.

Myers is now on Death Row and the two kids with their own personal vendettas against the killer sneak in to watch his execution. But when things go awry and Myers escapes, the pair, along with their friends, find themselves in the firing line.

Needless to say, it sounds like Michael is back in a big, bad way.  While no release date has been announced, we do know that screenwriter Marcus Dunstan is set to direct, as well as co-write with Patrick Melton.  

As a massive fan of the franchise (minus RZ's H2), I am super excited to see Myers on the big screen again.
